want warmth wear wool...

what good timing...the weather down here is freezing, the gas supply to the state is in disarray, but i have a new winter woolly to keep me warm. finished at last. this wool is sooo lovely to work with, and the colours in it are divine. i am off to gather some more Jo Sharp Yarn...unless anyone can suggest something better to use...

the pattern...now that's another issue...it is on the large side, but i kept stitching hoping all was well and then had gone too far to undo it. i wanted a jacket though, to wear over other things, so in that regard, i think it makes the grade.....if i did it again i would knit down a size....and yes i did a tension square for the first time in my life!!

it took three goes at buying the buttons

clearly i am not the only one that likes Jo Sharp's wool

too many is not enough

months ago my mum sent me some organic cotton to knit into dishcloths, with a foot note that i would never buy another dishcloth again. she was right. i love them so much, i ordered some more cotton from echoyarns and did a fast knit last night.
they are seriously good to use, but they really come into their own on windows and glass. no streaks, not ever. i have glass splash backs and a wall of full length windows, trust me I know! i have given a few of these away tied with some olive oil soap and they make a great gift.

winter tunic

Anna Tunic by Amy Butler

mona is just not modelling this very well, i think she needs some muscles. (can anyone out there help me with how to 'pad out' a model?)

this is an amy butler pattern for her Anna Tunic, made in winter weight fabric. i stitched it last week and the family had to hold me down to get it off me. usually i don't like what i make for me; somehow between the picture in my mind at the start, and the finished product they become two different images.
back view of yoke.

this however, is fantastic over jeans, with a skirt and boots. i wore it with this woolen, and with a coloured metalicus. fantastic!
i love it, and will definitely make another... hmmm what colour??
