blurred love..

it's hard to be enthusiastic about a project when the colours just don't do it for you. my parents have been staying for a few days, and mum wanted another patchwork bag made. she bought the fabrics down with her.. nice...lovely....good quality...just not the colours i usually work with. she was happy with the result, and that's the main thing...on a strong point, the lining was just the best, why don't all bags get made with a light colour inside so you can easily find the car keys..we just has to buy a closure for it when she gets home..nothing suitable in the box of tricks down here..
sorry about the blurred photo, it reflects the project in general i think..

the cycle...

we sow them......
we grow them...
we mow them....they go and get processed (sorry no photo for that step)...

then we eat them.....
Apple and Cinnamon Muffins
(all done by hand in one bowl)
mix together 1/2 cup olive oil, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1 cup milk.
add 1 cup S.R. flour, 1teaspoon baking powder, 1teaspoon cinnamon and 1 peeled chopped apple.
mix lightly and put into greased or lined muffin tins. bake 15-20 mins 180 degrees celsius.

delicious, especially hot out of the oven!!

they don't last long in this house, i baked a dozen an hour ago and have only three left...
why do boys eat so much?

can we keep a secret....

YES WE CAN.....

to swap: to exchange by way of barter......
to exchange: to receive in place of another....
to gift: voluntary transference of property without consideration, thing given, present, donation, thing bestowed, naturally endowed with gifts, faculty miraculously bestowed....yes i think if we mould all that into one, you get close to
Back Tack 4.....
this is my first swap and i am very excited to meet a new friend from Oklahoma....

rae shirt....

made with instructions from Made by Rae... i remembered when i saw it, i had some japanese fabric in the stash that would suit this shirt. it didn't take long to make, and i am sure will be a good top with jeans, to wear either with or without a shirt underneath...

to pleat or not to pleat.............

i started this skirt on the weekend...it has been made and re-made..... but sometimes you just have to give in, and admit that you have lost the war....i'm sure its the fabric, too stiff, too heavy...but i am desperate for some mid season work clothes.... the hem started off longer, then got the chop to just below the knee, then it had an orange cord that gathered it in but that made me look like a marshmallow...a toasted one....so i have stitched down the pleats instead, and now i like its shape and it's look...just not the fabric.......too bad she says...its only for work, i can wear it with boots or leggings as the weather slowly warms up down here....

its time to patch again...

i have not made a patchwork quilt for years.... each bed has its own loved quilt, each child has their own loved quilt from years ago..... but we have recently up-sized our bed and now we have have a need for a new piece of patchwork....i have found it hard to find the right fabrics to match the colours that are in my mind, but i think i am nearly there....what colours my husband asked, there are no colours in that lot!!

I Do.......

for days we gathered, prepared, organised, many hands working together, combining talents, for the wedding of a best friend's eldest child...

the flowers were divine..the weather was appauling... rain, wind, cold...
but for a magical 10 minutes, to say those magic words... I DO... we had sunshine...... then more winter weather.....
but it did not dampen anyones joy, or the fun or a country wedding...
