i am privileged to meet many old crafters..always willing to share their knowledge and craft experiences...
this was gifted to me by a lady who's house is like stepping into a living museum of the things she has made over her lifetime....she never gave away a first draft...always making a second copy for the gift...

I think that is as it should be. The first attempt to me is like a practice piece although I have, in the past done that very thing - given away something I made the first time. Although I did make it intentionally to give away.
I have never understood reading about a quilt that was for sale that was made in a workshop. To me, a workshop is a learning experience.
