vintage remnant...

this is an old piece of handkerchief linen, that was gifted to me from mum...
it sat in my mothers sewing room cupboard for years, and it has sat in my cupboard since mum and dad moved house 15 years ago...
it would have to be at least 30 years old, and has never been used because of the unevenness in the dye...(mums handiwork gone wrong)
i decided i like it though..i like the idea that the fabric was non conforming...remaining unique...
so it finally saw the light of day over the weekend...
the pattern pieced together without any alterations required...except added length...
i cant wait to wear it to show mum her purchase from the remnant bin all those years ago...
i was also gifted a piece of silk that i have always been too scared to cut into...
but i think i have found it a project...

I love the neckline treatment on this garment.

That's lovely. I like it quite a lot. It would be very fashionable in NYC.
