suggestions required..

a few months ago i won a give away from the fantastically talented Sarah... from the last piece.
Moda roll... french generals...lovely muted reds...it is a jam roll not a jelly roll, so the strips are only 1.5 wide..
over the past few days i have created these blocks, with no real direction....thinking i might shadow them down in colour grading...but.....
note to self...don't do that again...
now i dont quite know what to do with them...or what colour to use as sashing...or whether to keep patching....
the dilemma....
would love some suggestions...

I just gave my Mum a quilt made from this fabric - I love it. Moda made matching plain colours (and that shop in Albany had the other French General fabrics - not sure if they had the solids). I'm always partial to a cream/white sashing.
